Our Purpose
Southgate Baptist Church exists to bring glory to God. We will do this by encouraging and equipping people to become faithful followers of Jesus Christ.
Our Story
Southgate Baptist Church began it’s journey on December 10, 1961 in Moore, OK. Thirteen charter members met in the Moore Community Building, with the meeting led by Brother Duren, and a message brought by Brother Duty. By May of the following year, their attendance had nearly tripled and they called their first pastor, Harold Hodges. This would be his first, and only, church to pastor for the next 35 years. We’ve since seen Doug Brewer join as Youth Pastor and later become our Senior Pastor and are blessed to have him as our Pastor.
Now three locations and four buildings later, Southgate focuses on reaching the heart of the community of Moore with the love of Jesus through outreach, ministry, and a place to call home.
